hello master,
i wanna ask, is that same if we do re-index by ax (System Administration -> Periodic -> Database -> SQL Administration -> Index Actoin -> Re- Index)
and if we do Re-index by query in SQL SERVER ??
Thank you.
AX is just going to execute the similar command to what you will be executing in SQL. If you have option and expertise to do from SQL that would be preferred to avoid tying AX resources. Also have re-indexing plan on regular basis.
Hi Rahmat,
In AX,You can use the path you mentioned to re-index.
http://dynamicsaxarticles.blogspot.com/2012/11/dynamics-ax-maintenance-re-indexing.html
In SQL Server Management Studio, you can right-click the index you want to reorganize and select Rebuild.
You can read this Doc: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/relational-databases/indexes/reorganize-and-rebuild-indexes?view=sql-server-ver15
so it means, it will same if we do in ax or sql right?
thank you blue wang
End result should be same.
In SQL, you have more options (reorganize, rebuild, online rebuilding, parameters) than in SQL.
Consider using Ola Hallengren's scripts for index maintenance - .it's more clever than just running the same action for every index.
