Adding Current Date to Labels

We can currently print labels using any of the available label variables via the RMS Label Designer interface.  However, we need to have labels carry the current date at the time of printing.

Because of the nature of our business, goods are recieved against any given PO over several weeks.  This requires us to print labels prior to committing, using the 'Issues/Received on this Order' option.  At this stage of the process the goods aren't committed and therefore carry a last received date that applies to the previous time of committal.  Consequently, 'Last Received' is not a solution for us.

Is there any way to add a label variable to RMS label designer?

Thanks,

Julian

Re: Adding Current Date to Labels

    Julian,

Over the years we have found a number of limitations with RMS Label Printing.  To fill the gaps we created an RMS Plug-in called RITE Label.  Among the features offered by RITE Label is about 2 dozen more label variables that one can add to a label to print information above and beyond what is offered out-of-the-box.  Among the custom variables are <<DateNowShort>> and <<DateNowLong>> offering a couple different ways to display the date.

If you would like to know more about this product, check out our website here: www.rite.us/.../RITELabel.aspx, or feel free to give our sales team a call or drop them an email at sales@rite.us!

Re: Adding Current Date to Labels

    Hello Julian,

    Thank you for your questions.

Current Date is not a variable in the label designer for RMS.

You may have to create a Text Object and input the date every time you need to print labels.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
