Global Gift Card

We use the integrated Global Gift Card solution to manage gift cards sold in 6 separate locations.  We recently experienced a total loss of our HQ server (with no viable back-up) and upon trying to recreate the GGC database, we noticed that there are a lot of discrepancies.  Does anyone know of a way that I can clear all vouchers in HQ and start fresh by importing a correct card#/balance listing that I have in .csv format?  And then repeat the process for the stores?  Or push it down somehow?  Thanks

    RE: Global Gift Card

I believe there may be a KB out there for the purposes of rebuilding the HQ database which may prove useful. I also believe there is a MS unsupported import utility you may also be able to obtain. I recommend working with MS or a MS partner for directions necessary to correct data. In order to obtain these two resources you will likely need to create a case with MS support or a MS Partner who performs database repair. I hope this proves helpful to you, as I do understand this is not a good position to be in.

    Hi KristaBez,

Are you using RMS Global Gift Card feature. Then all your gift card numbers are saved in voucheronline table with respective values. You can recreate the table with correct values. Would suggest to replace the correct values without deleting the table as it maintain voucheronline ID for Gift card related reports.

    Hi KristaBez.

The best (and probably the only) way to import this values into your RMS database is by SQL, with queries or importing from an Excel (or similar external file). The problem is that You can´d just add the records, if they allready exists (or some of them). You will need to create a logic that will update the existing records and add the new ones (if any).

For this, you better talk to Your RMS partner, as it´s not easy task. Your RMS partner shoudl be able to help you, they need knowledge of RMS database structure, SQL and maybe a little bit of programming also...

If not, please contact me, my company can help You.

    Best regards, A.

    Hi Krista,

If you have around 5000 records, you can use excel to create the script and apply it in SQL Manager studio. If you want to update the records, first get the list from SQL voucher table to excel and then add the new values for existing voucher numbers You need little bit SQL knowledge on this. Take a fresh back up before applying any scripts. Keep the voucher server disabled during the process.

PM if you need further support on this.
