In Microsoft Dynamics GP, financial statements like the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Statement of Cash Flows can be created using Management Reporter (MR) or Financial Reporter.

Solution Options for Building Financial Statements in Dynamics GP

    1. Use Management Reporter (Recommended)

Management Reporter is the primary tool for creating financial statements in GP. If it's already installed and configured, follow these steps:

Steps to Create Financial Statements in Management Reporter:

    1. Open Management Reporter and log in.
    2. Set Up a New Report Definition:
      • Go to File > New > Report Definition.
    3. Define Row Definitions:
      • Create a new Row Definition to list accounts and categories for the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow.
      • Assign account categories from GP’s Chart of Accounts.
    4. Define Column Definitions:
      • Set up a new Column Definition to display financial periods, year-to-date values, and calculations.
    5. Define Reporting Tree (Optional):
      • If you need department-wise reports, create a Reporting Tree to segment data.
    6. Generate the Report:
      • Save and run the report to view the results.

    2. Use GP’s Built-in Financial Statements (Simple Method)

If you don’t have Management Reporter, you can use Financial Summary Reports:

    • Navigate to Reports > Financial > Trial Balance or Financial Summary.
    • Select Balance Sheet or Income Statement templates.
    • Customize as needed and print or export.

    3. Use SmartList and Excel for Custom Reports

    • Export GP financial data via SmartList (Microsoft Dynamics GP > SmartList).
    • Use Excel with PivotTables to create custom financial statements.

    4. Third-Party Add-ons (If Needed)

If you require advanced financial reporting, consider Jet Reports or BI360 Solver.
