Microsoft Dynamics GP (Archived)

I have an account created as a unit account and it should be a posting account. There is activity in the account, so I can't delete it. Any ideas how to change it to a posting account?

Try going to Financial Utilities and Remove History for that account. Provided you haven't included any transactions in an open year, you should be able to remove (delete) history and then delete the unit account. You can then re-create the account as a posting account. Note that you will DELETE all history, so any reports you may have that relies on one that unit account balance will no longer work.

There is no way to change it within GP. You'd have to write a query to make that change. The best thing to do is create a new GL posting account.

If you have activity in the unit account, how would you anticipate balancing that activity if you changed the account to a posting account?
