Hello ,

i am new to Dynamics and I am willing to work with it's API to develop an application.I am on the proof of concept stage . My question is where can I find a satisfying documentation and something to begin with like a guide ? And what are the limitation of this API .

I went on the official documentation but found nothing there . So please if you have some sort of tutorial or even a detailed article that will help me a lot in my research

Best regards

Which API do you mean? It's full of various programming interfaces.

That's pretty vague, which doesn't really help me to help you. I assume that by GET and POST, you mean HTTP methods, but you gave me no information about what you need to do with them.

If you goal is to integrate AX 2009 with some other application, look at Application Integration Framework Overview.

I need to develop a plug-in (basically to collect desired information in one UI)using MS Dynamics ( both 2009 and 2012 are recommended). I searched on the MSDN links but could not find a specific documentation which contains information for its objects. I barely encountered a piece of information where it has been mentioned that MS Dynamics does not have an API. Is that clear enough ?

I think you are mixing up definitions and terms left and right.

API means Application Programming Interface, which is the AX Development client.

AX does not have plug-ins, but you would be creating and changing objects and code within the development client using the MorphX interface, and the X++ language.

GET and POST are related to web applications, however AX is not that, but an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

It does have support for being called though via a WSDL web service through the aforementioned Application Integration Framework (AIF).

Please get your requirements and terms right, otherwise we will not understand what you are talking about and what do you exactly want help with.
