FRx Rows

I have one row format for my P&L with many lines (for example sales). I want to use this row format for  departmental reprting, but the departments do not have many of the lines. Is there a way to use the 1 row format but hide the lines that do not contain data for the departments?

    RE: FRx Rows

On this I think the last 4 digit is account code if I am right.  So other than that I would fill all other segment with ??? as follows.  Since you are giving filter on Tree.  So I would fill required account code in row if its not defined in tree.  And leave the tree as it is.  If you want to define some more account segment in row itself then don't use that again on tree instead just put ? on that.

    RE: FRx Rows

That is what I thought but it did not work. Our acct structure is "company" "control" "dept" "acct"

so I have my rows set as follows:

    ????-6-???-6309 - the 6 indicates marketing

The Tree lists all the departments in MKTG (231/232/233/234/235/236)

I was getting duplicate values for every acct in mktg and I was getting all the details from my P&L row even if they didn't apply to marketing

I am thinking the rows using ???? vs &&&& and the tree using ???? for the acct structure is causing the problem - but I am at a loss

    RE: FRx Rows

This can be achieved easily.  You can have one row and column and have one tree with all the department listed on that i.e. 100-????-??? (Marketing).  So when you run it will asked user to select the department and the result will come Marketing only.  So in this way when you add new account you have to add only one time in the row format.  Please confirm whether this solve your problem.

    Thanks,

    Babu

    RE: FRx Rows

No - I did this - for example I have the following lines:

    Sales

    COS

    GM

    Freight

    Market Spending by line item

I want only market spending by line item to print for the department Marketing - yet I get the sales/COS/GH/Freight numbers also

I must be doing something wrong in the rows (I use ???? maybe need to uswe &&&&)

I solved this by creating rows for each segment but now I have to update 10 rows if an acct is added vs 1 row

    RE: FRx Rows

Are you referring the output generated from the FRX has rows with no numbers on that.  If so you might have selected display rows with no amounts on the report option tab.  If this is not the case please explain in detail what you are trying to do.

    Thanks,

    babu
