Hiding button

Hi

We have a case where sales agents only can add up to 4 quotes on an opportunity (limit in external quoting).
Is there a way to achieve this by hiding the /new/ button on the subgrid that we have on opportunity (named oppquotes).
I've found an old blog post, but this does not work, also not using the newer formcontext.
I don't want to create a plugin for this so hiding that button so they don't even have the option would be great.

    Hi Partner,
Which entity are you trying to hide the button on, Opportunity or Quote?
In other words, is this button located on a form or a sub-grid?
According to your description, you should be trying to hide the buttons on the sub-grid:

I hope you can mark my answer verified if it is helpful! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
    Regards,
