Dear AX users,
I am trying to build a report in MR to consolidate data from several countries with different currencies.
I can display amounts in Functional currency for each company, as well as in Reporting currency. However, I don't know how to display amounts in a third currency (currency from the mother company, which is different from group reporting currency).
I have set up the main accounts with exchange rate type and currency translation type :
Do you have any advice on how to do that ?
Thanks in advance for any tip you can provide!
Nelly
Hi Christophe,
Some questions:
Can you check in the data mart per Sql query that there are some data available for Feb, March, etc.?
Sometimes if you maintain systems, the MR services are stopped and if you don't put them back on and start them, you can get inconsistencies between MR and AX.
If there are no data there or some data that are different from the ones in AX, then try to reset the datamart. This often helps.
In case also this datamart reset does not help, contact the MS support team and let them take a look at your machine by means of a screensharing session.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hi again
I requested then datamart.exchangerate table via Sql.
For the AED, SAR but for othe exchanges currency pairs, i found something strange.
the highest Validfrom value is in January 2021 (but valid to 30/12/2154)...
In AX we have different exchange rates valid from february, march...
Do you now if I can refresh the data of currency rates from AX to Reporter Manager ?
Hi Ludwig,
I am sure you are right. Of course I checked LCS but didn't find anything.
But I think something is strange and may be you can help US.
We tested the report for year 2020
For each month we have correct values (functional currency, and AED).
For January in 2021 data are correct as well.
But since February 2021 we have no conversion (Amont in functional currency are the same as amount in AED).
In AX we have exchange rates for each month.
Is that possible that something went wrong ? I that possible to do something from your point of view ?
Best Regards
Christophe
Hi Christophe,
I don't think that this specific version makes a big difference unless it is related to a system bug.
Have you already checked LCS for available hotfixes?
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hello
I am working with Nelly but in IT department. I don't know if it is important, but We are running AX 2012 R3 CU8.
Hello Nelly,
What period selection did you make when running the report?
As the setup of the columns is identical, you should see some data provided that there are some postings in D365FO.
Have you tried entering 'base', 'base-1' and 'base-2' instead of the numbers into the different columns and then run the report for March 2021 as the base period?
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hello Ludwig,
Thanks for your feedback. The column definition is as below:
- columns in green are in functional currency
- columns in blue should be converted in AED by using the Average translating method (set up in the COA)
The problem is that 01/2021 is translated correctly, but then 02/2021 and 03/2021 are not converted at all.
Any idea why that might be?
Thanks!
Nelly
Hello Nelly,
Have you checked the column definition settings in the financial report designer.
There you should be able to select different currencies as required.
Best regards,
Ludwig
