Hi,

I want to have general solution for cloning records in all and custom entities in dynamics crm on-premise with javascript.

please help me

Hi,

It's not javascript based, but there's a good Workflow solution called Snapshot (www.cobalt.net/dynamics-crm-snapshot). You can configure deep clones on records (an order and it's products for example).

Hi,

Please have look into this codeplex:https://msdyncrmworkflowtools.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=Clone%20Record&referringTitle=Documentation

It will have the source code for clone records done using the custom workflow. I will recommend instead of using javascript you can call the on-demand workflow and run the workflow for cloning the record.

If you are using javascript you can enable the rules for single selection record and popup the record in the new window which also can be achieved by following steps:

1. Create a new action and use the cloned record custom workflow.

2. In Action, return the clone record GUID in the Output parameter.

3. Javascript to call the Action (https://processjs.codeplex.com/)

4. Show the Popup Record based on the GUID Returned in the Action.

Snapshot does work for any record. There's a configuration screen where you can configure the entity you want to clone, any relationships you're cloning, and fields you want to exclude from the clone.

Let's say you had a customer who orders the same thing regularly. You'd configure it to clone the order and it's line items, but exclude the order status. When you run the workflow you'd have a open order with the line items ready to be paid.
