I am looking to create a field in contacts (and similar in accounts and opportunities) that will show number of days since any change/activity has taken place.
Any guidance/instructions for how to do this would be much appreciated.
Auditing the "Modified On" date of a record is not possible. However, you can create a custom date field and update it with the current date and time whenever the record is modified. This approach allows you to track when changes are made to your records.
Create a plugin on post operation when modified on date changes. And then update custom field.
