Migrating Database and lost custom settings

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi everyone,

I am migrating our Microsfot Dynamic SL 7.0 from one server to another.
Everything copies over fine.
The database is working correctly
But the problem, the old install had a lot of customized forms for all users and they did not come over correctly.
For instance, we have a Sales Orders form that is missing some columns in the grid view and is displaying incorrectly

New - http://i.imgur.com/JL4tFpk.png

Is there a special way to migrate the custom settings, or is there a way for me to export and import the custom settings?

    Aloha,

    Most likely you will need to recompile your customizations.

    To force a recompile, you need to add the following entry to your Solomon.ini file:

    [Customization]

    VBASourceSave=No

    VBASourceCompile=Yes

    As someone with access rights, open each customized screen in the correct level.

    Once all customized screens have been recompiled, remove the force recompile entry from Solomon.ini file.

    If still an issue, it might require reapplying the customizations from scratch.

    Hope this helps.

    Aloha,

    -Scott
