As per Microsoft documentation, Products (items) must be assorted to each channel before being added to the catalog. However, we were able to add the products even if they were not assorted for the channel, and the validation was successful.
Note: To add non-assorted products, please remove/clear the values on the filters like Retail Channel, Assortment on "Add product" functionality form. So, you will able to see non-assorted products and able to add it into catalog.
Question: Is it truly mandatory for products to be assorted before being added to the catalog? Could this potentially cause any issues?
