Sandbox slower than Production?

Hi - we've got a plug-in that is timing out in our Sandbox instance at the two-minute mark, which is a restriction set by Microsoft.  Pretty sure it is just choking on the amount of data we're running through it.  I'm wondering if we may get it done in under two minutes in our Production instance, assuming Production has more processor and memory assigned to it than Sandbox does.  Does anyone know if that's generally the case with Dynamics Online?  Is Production more powerful than Sandbox?

    I know you probably expected this answer and were hoping for something else, but I'd suggest refactoring the plugin. Maybe split it into a series of plugins or make it an external code.. after all, even if production is more powerful, it's likely going to have more records, too.

    Hi jBil,

    Even though you have high configuration for your production environment,Microsoft's set an restriction for synchronous process (plugin) max timeout of 2 min which is set considering both on online and on premise type of deployment. This for better control on all the synchronous process. If you wish to have the process more than the 2 min the better go for workflow. Which still have option for you the synchronous and asynchronous.

    Pretty sure a workflow will timeout, too. It's the same "sandbox" mode either way(both sync and async)
