Publish extension to BC on premise

Posted on by 150

Hello,

I'm getting an error like this:

Error: Could not open the specified startup page. Please check that the server configuration key PublicWebBaseUrl has been properly set.

("startupObjectId": 22,)

If I start the page form the devellopment environment it starts the page is opened with the Windows client.

Kind regards

Chris

Use the same url as you use to open the web client.  My link to Cronus is http://localhost:8080/BC160/

Yes indeed you need to perform these steps:

Open you server administration console: after selecting the proper server instance under the Console Root (upper left side), choose then the Client Services TAB (EDIT) after that lookup for the "Web Client Base URL:" and set it to http://localhost:<your port>/<your webserver instance> (eg. http://localhost:8080/BC130 ). Click Save and restart the service. ALSO you need to restart your VSCode (strange but, yes)

"Restart Visual Studio Code" is a really important step! I would have looked for a solution even longer without this hint because its really obscure to have to restart VS Code.

    Hi Stefano,

    intersting additional information:

After setting the PublicWebBaseUrl, there are two additional things to be done:

    1. Restart the service (obvious)

    2. Restart Visual Studio Code (not so obvious)

    best regards

    Thomas

You need to set the PublicWebBaseUrl property. You can do this in two places:

    1) Edit the config file of the nav service you are trying to connect to

    2) In the server administrator app the same property is under the Client Services tab and it's called "Web Client Base Url".
