calculate of inventory aging in BC ?

Hello everyone,

how this Business Central calculate its inventory aging? Is there any table dedicated to this?

F&O have Physical and Financial date to acknowledge its On-hand.

- By sum all of it, I can get it's total qty in current (the actual On-hand)

But then I can't use those dates since there are some of this are merely a transaction date which maybe just an in and out movement, which in the end the actual qty now is not for that particular date. Like for example: for current On-hand ItemA is 100, there is financial date of January of 20 then February -20, then March is 50, April 50. So wondering whether there are other table that I can use?

is there any table available to see on a particular date how much inventory is available for an item.

how BC usually calculate its inventory aging report?

For trying out in BI, it will be very much helpful if anyone provide me the solution/Calculation for Inventory aging.

You can use "Item Ledger Entry".

You can check Quantity on Hand field of Item Page.

Item ledger Entry is not showing the qty based on the Posting date. it is displaying with as on date.

that is the main issue. so apart from this what is the another option and

how will be aging calclulation

Hi,

You have to build customized report to achieve this requirement from Item ledger entry, with base of posting date and line remaining quantity. You have create Item and Posting group base on that you have to check remaining quantity with this you can get inventory aging.

could you pls elaborate little bit more. it will be much helpful for me to understand.

we dont have lot num and serial number for items. so how do i need to do get aging in fifo order

Hi

My assumption is you already tried the below reports and they are not giving you what you need

Item Age Composition - Quantity

Item Age Composition - Value

As other expert mentioned here you need to filter your Item Ledger Entry based on Remaining QTY. Posting date here is the date that you have received that item. This basically give you how long each item (with remaining QTY from specific PO (prod order, etc) is in inventory.

But you also may want to know the last time that item for that PO/prod etc has been used. For that you need to access Item Application Entry table (339) and then look for inbound/outbound to find the relationship and design your report.

i cant able to find item application entry on Search.

apart from the item age composition report, how do we know how much quantity was available in our entry on a particular date

Have you tried Inventory Valuation Report. it has the date and qty

Sorry Application entry is the table you can access it like below. But that does not help if you want to use it in Excel.
