How to set alias dynamic link in workflow

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I need to send an email from a workflow with a link to an incident.

My server name is "crmserver" and i use the alias "support" to work with the system. My org name is "IT"

So the address to the system is: "http://support/IT/main.aspx..."

In my workflow i use "Record URL(dynamic)" and i get the link with the server name: "http://crmserver:80/IT/main.aspx?etc=112&id....." but this not what i need.

I need to get the alias url "support", so when i migrate to another server, the links will be valid

The link i need is "http://support:80/IT/main.aspx?etc=112&id....."

Please help,

Thanks

My above solution will work for even if it's not IFD. Do you have any custom workflow activities  created by you or you team? If so you can add a new one to the project to do the url change.

    Hi Yaniv,

You will have to create a Custom Workflow Activity that takes the Record URL (Dynamics) as the input string parameter and returns the Url with the Support in it.

Please have a look at the example below,

    ScreenClip-_5B00_241_5D00_.png

Call this in your workflow, pass the dynamic record url and this will return the correct url you want.

Let me know if you need any more guide on this

Quick Question , how your dynamics crm is setup? Is this an IFD?

this is definitely something to do with your setup.
