Menu item - one user can see Menu item, another cannot

Posted on by 509

I've a user who cannot see a menu item (entity) on the left hand side.

They are part of the same team, and the same business unit. Security roles are assigned to the business unit.

Is there anything else I can check to see why only one can see it? Or does anyone have any idea why this occurs?

Thanks

Lee

My motto in regard to my daily work is "Miracles do not exist - there is always an explanation" and in your case - that should be the privilege but without looking at the system it's near to impossible to tell exactly which.

    Hi,

Is the Menu Item an entity?

If so, you can check if you have a difference in rights between the 2 users by using: learn.microsoft.com/.../access-checker

Do you use hierarchy and position security ?

Could you try to navigate in incognito ?

The user's have the same business unit (which has security roles applied), and the same team.

I have checked the privileges, and they are correct for the user who can view the menu item.  - However, these privileges are the same for the user who cannot see the item.

Is there anything I might have missed?

Ok. So you are talking about SiteMap and Model-Drive Apps. I would recommend checking on your sitemap (using OOB tools or XrmToolbox) and checking the privileges of that navigation item.

There is one menu item on the nav bar appearing for one user, which is not appearing for another despite the same permissions.

I cannot provide a screenshot to describe this, but it is exactly as i describe
