Microsoft Application Error Reporting Detected - GP 10 install on Server 2008 R2

I'm trying to install GP 10 SP5 from the download site.

I keep getting this error:

"Microsoft Application Error Reporting Detected" and then a fatal error.

The Microsoft Error Reporting service is running and setup in Server Manager.

I created a package but it still throws the error.  The server doesn't have any anti-virus software on it at the moment.

    Hello Brian,

This normally occurs when installing GP 2010 and  GP 10 on the same machine some times. Here is the typical resolution:

    1. Remove the keys from the registry:

      a. Back up the following keys, and delete them:

          i. HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting

          ii. HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting

      b. Uninstall all versions of Dexterity Shared Components through Programs and Features (including 2010 dexterity components if applicable*).

      c. Search the registry for dw20sharedamd64, export the key, and then delete it.

      d. Search the registry for "Microsoft Application Error Reporting", export any keys found, and then delete the keys.

      e. Attempt the installation of Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 again.

Re: Microsoft Application Error Reporting Detected - GP 10 install on Server 2008 R2

We see this error occur at times if Dynamics GP 2010 has been installed and/or another version of Microsoft Application Error Reporting has been installed and the install confuses the two versions of Error Reporting.

    Thanks
