SL2011 - Create additional empty application database

I've inherited a new SL Client that is still on version 2011.  They would like to create a new company, however I am running into a number of errors when attempting to create an "Additional Application Database".  The process runs with errors and the DBBuild.Log is referenced at the end of this post.  Upon completion, the database displays on the Database Maintenance Screen and the corresponding company can be added on under company maintenance.  Yet when I try to log into the new company, I receive the following message:

In troubleshooting, we also tried rebuilding procs and indexes, doing the security update, and resetting windows authentication for the logon method.  Neither seemed to have an affect and the logon error remained.

I am not finding references to the message on line.  Any thoughts as to what may be causing the DB Creation process to fail?  Please advise..

Here is the contents of the DBBuild.log file:

    JG,

Looking at the errors, my guess would be that either the bcp files are missing from the ..\db\empty\app folder or they are restricted by rights. The rights issue (in my mind) is probably more relevant as the "Grant ..." procedures also are throwing errors. Make sure you have proper admin rights to the server.

    Hello Stuart,

Appreciate the input.  The BCP files are there.  Moreover supposedly I am logged in as a system administrator.

That said, I may have stumbled upon something.   It seems the server in question is also a domain controller.  Given the DC configuration I am unable to view local group membership to verify if the logon is also a local admin.  Could there be potential issues with the machine being configured as a domain controller?

JG, I know that, in the past, having the DC and SQL on the same box was frowned upon. My recollection is that it was because both want to consume resources. Don't believe that's what is causing your problem though. Still feels like a rights issue to me.

    Hello JG,

Are you using a port? 1433 is the default for sql server , it should be open for incoming/outgoing traffic.

If you used a different port (some people do...) then perhaps that port is not open. And if you are using a different port, you need to include it on the login screen for db maintenance
