Licensed user doesn't show up in D365

I have added D365 license to a user in AD but he does not appear in the user table. I have come across this before and the common thing is that they have had exactly the same name in AD. Anyone know how to solve this?

    Can you try this TIP from this post: docs.microsoft.com/.../create-users-assign-online-security-roles

    To force an immediate synchronization between the Microsoft 365 admin center and Customer Engagement apps, do the following:

    Sign out of Customer Engagement apps and the Microsoft 365 admin center.

    Close all open browsers used for Customer Engagement apps and the Microsoft 365 admin center.

    Sign back in to Customer Engagement apps and the Microsoft 365 admin center.
