Attachment file name change to include full path when receiving reply to mail merge.

Hi there,

I am facing a strange issue where a mail merge is sent from MS CRM 2011. An attachment (PDF) is included with the mail merge. The attachment has a simple file name e.g. 'report 2013.pdf'.

A reply was received to this e-mail (it was actually forwarded on to the original sender to be precise), and the conversation was tracked in CRM. The reply contained the original attachment with a strange difference: the attachment file name had been changed to include the full path containing back slashes and white space replaced by underscores e.g.

__network home drive_some_sub_folder_report 2013.pdf

It is important to note that this is the path of the file on the originating file system (i.e. where the e-mail was first created using mail merge).

Anyone any idea what is going on here?

Thanks

Martijn

    Hi,

I believe this is fixed in Dynamics CRM Rollup 13.

    support.microsoft.com/.../en-us

Installing the latest rollup should fix the issue.

    Regards

    Scotty

    Hi Aasif,

Many thanks for your reply. I am not sure but I can check. Do you know of any issues that would cause this behaviour when using a template?

Please confirm if you are using a template for mail merge!
