Copying Data from One Company to Another

Hi:

I'd like to be able to change the Location ID in my company.  Specifically, I need to add a prefix to the beginning of that ID.

But, I previously posted transactions to the current ID and can't.

I suppose that I'll have to create a new company, pull master records from the "old" company, and pull only transactions form the "old" company that don't have this ID.

This way, in the "new" company, I can change the Location ID to an ID that has this prefix.

How do I do so?

Thanks!

John

It seems that you can only use Configuration Package because your data is different.

Otherwise you can use the Master data management function.

However, have you ever tried to modify the location code directly? The system supports renaming

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
