Dynamic Nav VS 365

We are currently using Nav 2013. After 2013, there are 2015,  and 2016 versions and now 365 is coming soon. Dynamic 365 is cloud based, if switched to 365, can we still  customize on the tables, page and reports?

Thank you!

We will have NAV 2017 and Dynamics 365 Financials, as you mentioned the Dynamics 365 Financials is totally cloud based.

You can still customize as you do in NAV 2016 in NAV 2017, but the approach of Dynamics 365 is totally different it is available as an App, as far i know the customizations/new functionality can be added by using Apps which are developed by the partners who published in the AppSource. I am sorry but I don't have full details how that works.

    hi,

totally agree with Suresh, totally differente approach, cloud & app based solution.

sure, you can customize tables, page and reports (extensions 2.0)

Dynamics 365 Financials (ex Project Madeira)

    - standard base solution (with frequently features updating system like CRM Online..)

    - app based solutions (certified & distribuited in App Store) , app is your customized solutions or Addons

--> FEW brand new... A LOT of Apps...

You would still have an option to use newest NAV 2017 version that would be available starting from 28th of October, which you can use on-premise. And, still there might be further versions on-premise. Those versio nare still customizable in the old-fashioned way as you can do now with 2013 version. However in parallel you will have now an option to migrate to Dynamics 365 Business, which offers you a cloud-based solution. There you will not be able to modify the standard functionality directly, but you would need to use Extensions in order to make modification of standard behavior.

However in general it is already now recommended to use Extensions for modification of NAV 2017, as the main goal will be to have it all in the cloud sooner or later.
