Power Platform Plugin Profiling

Hello,

I have created a basic plugin which I now want to practise debugging.

I am following this

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/developer/data-platform/tutorial-debug-plug-in?tabs=pptools

When I follow this and select "start profiling" I expected to be promoted with the first step "specify profile storage". However, that option is instead my SECOND step, - my first step is "Select workflow steps" and I am prompted to select a workflow. As far as I am aware I havent specified or referenced a workflow at any stage of the plugin development, so does anyone know why I am being prompted to select a workflow?
I do not want to select a workflow, but the profiler won't let me continue unless I do?

Many thanks for any suggestions.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

It is recommended to post your issue to the forum of Power Apps for further help.

    Hi,

This happens when you have custom workflow activity in your project.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../debug-workflow-activites

Make sure you have only plugin code class file and not custom workflow activity class file

Hello, I do seem to have only plugin code class file. Is there anything I should search for to denote the presence of a custom workflow activity class file?

    Many thanks.

    Hi,

Can you download below project , build the solution register assembly using PRT and create step then try to debug to see if workflow selection in step 1 is coming.

    github.com/.../FollowupPlugin

This is purely plugin project and does not have custom workflow activity.

Have you created step for your plugin assembly in plugin registration tool and then you are selecting step then clicking on start profiling?

Thanks so much for your help. I think I know where the issue of workflow is arising. - In VS2019 I select "create a new project" and select the "power platform solution template" - I select the default solution. I am then prompted with "select items for template". I do not know what this prompt means, but I must select something in order to continue. When I add entity (lead) I get an error "cannot add step to worklow activity" (see image above in original post). All I want to be able to do is create a basic plugin project. I do not know where the workflow reference is arising or why I must "select items for template".

Thanks for all your help - I have followed that before but what I really wanted to do was create a plugin using the power platfrom template.

This link covers it, I think  - docs.microsoft.com/.../devtools-create-plugin
