How can an item's unit cost be changed if it already has history?

The item already has history (adjustments, invoices, etc.). The costing method used is Average. Since the item has been used, it makes the unit cost field on the item card read-only. Is there any way to change the item's unit cost directly?

You can do item revaluation journal to adjust your unit cost.
