Hello Community

Dual-Write button is missing in LCS Cloud Hosted Environment details page.

I am an admin in LCS and have "Dynamics 365 Admin" role in Azure.

This was visible before, i am suspecting my Infosec team made some changes recently that would have impacted this functionality.

Any Suggestions on how to get back Dual-Write button?

Thank you

San

    Hello Santosh,

For Microsoft managed sandox and Production environment, Add-ins are installed by default. This is to say, you can setup setup dual write from LCS at any point.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/power-platform/overview#add-ins-functionality

However, for cloud hosted environment, just like yours, the power platform integration must be enabled right at the point of deployment, and you need to have a license for Microsoft Power Platform.

    Hi Santosh,

Follow these steps to set up dual-write from LCS Environment Details page:

    1. On the Environment Details page, expand the Power Platform Integration section.

    2. Select the Dual-write application button.

    3. Review the terms and conditions, and then select Configure.

    4. Select OK to continue.

Please refer to this MS Doc:

Hi Santosh, I think for cloud hosted environments, that's the expected behavior now.

    check this out

    learn.microsoft.com/.../enable-power-platform-integration

Enable the integration for cloud-hosted development environments

Because of the architecture differences between cloud-hosted development environments and the sandbox or production environments, Power Platform Integration can't be set up after the developer environment is created. Therefore, you can set up Power Platform Integration only during the deployment of your cloud-hosted environment. In addition, you can connect a new cloud-hosted environment only with a new Power Platform environment. You can't connect an existing environment of any type via Lifecycle Services.

    was this a recent change?

This is applicable only if you specifically enabled it during the environment deployment phase just like attached in my previous reply. Also, I believe you do know that, once you link an environment on LCS to D365FO. It is irreversible.
