Hello,
I have a Single Line of Text field called "Customer Code" in Accounts.
I need to create a lookup field in Opportunities so that the value can be looked up from Customer Code.
Is it possible to create a lookup field from another field? If yes then how?
I understand that we can create lookup fields to Account names.

Unless Customer Code is it's own entity and the code is the primary field of the entity, you can't achieve this without code.

The lookup field will always display the Primary field of the related entity. Your lookup will always display the Primary field.
You can however modify your Lookup view to display additional columns, that way you would be able to show your Customer Code field in the lookup filtered view and lookup window view.
You can also search by that column if you add it to your account Quick Find View and Find columns.
You can probable use custom code and call SetValue of the lookup control to display a different value, but you would have to get that value every time you make a change to the lookup field or load the form.
