Payment Journals Default Date

Hello!

Is there anyway to make the posting date default to the work date when we open a payment journal? Currently, if we open a payment journal, it defaults to the last day something was processed via that journal (which could be a few days prior). We then have to remember to change the date to the current date before processing a payment, which can be problematic if we don't remember to change the date or delete the line so it refreshes to the work date.

in my testing, if you have unposted lines in the payment journal, it will default to that date.

After deleting those lines, BC doesn't default to work day. To me this makes sense cause when user process multiple lines, each might have a different posting date. If BC default date to work day, user needs to update the date as well.

Did you have an orphan entry not posted from the prior posting and instead of deleting the row, only the fields were cleared?

You might want to consider automating this process by using rules or scripts to ensure the record date is always the current business day.

That is strange, I tested in V23.5 and V24 and the posting date on the payment journal will default to the work date for me.

Hi,

that is default behavior. You can change it via subscribing event available in page Payment Journal.

Selected Red Line is where these initial values are set in the page.

Selected Green Line is event which you can subscribe to change Posting Date to Work Date.
