wrong unit cost calculation

Hi,

Scenario is,

Item A (unit cost $10) produces Item B and Item C using family production order.

SO if I use 10 x item A to produce 8 x item B and 2 x item C, unit cost of item B and C will be calculated based on unit cost of item A.

But value of Item C is very low, still useable though, I like to adjust unit cost of item C automatically after production.

otherwise it will affect other products which use item C as components.

How do I achieve this automatically?

Please advise.

Thank you.

    Hi

Can you please explain more about this business need. In your example cost of Item C should be $20 ($10 X 2) do you see this cost? Do you have accurate BOM for item C? I mean if Item C only cost $20 to make why you need to increase the cost? Unless I am missing something.

As far as I know no automated way to achieve that. You may need customization for it or every time use item revaluation journal

What costing method are you using of Item C?

Is it standard cost? That is the only cost that can be updated automatically with out going through and item revaluation process.

And implementing an automatics revaluation process sounds kind of risky to me.
