Hi everyone

I am new to the community, so I hope I have posted this question in the right forum.

We are using Dynamics 365 CE in our company, I am also using the Dynamics 365 Add-in.

I would like to know whether we can add a contact to Dynamics 365 from an e-mail signature? The add-in can detect information from my e-mails, but it only seems to be reading the information in the To, CC, and BCC fields ie Full Name and e-mail address.

Is it possible to aslo read information from the body of the e-mail, more specifically the e-mail signature? I would like to read information like phone number(s), web page etc.

Thanks alot

Kirk

    Hi Kirk,

Since I'm not sure how your signature is designed exactly, you may try the Scan Business Card function to achieve your request.

Here is the reference documentation about it.

    Thanks Nya

I don't think it matters how your signature is designed. All signatures have extra information (besides your name and e-mail address) which I am trying to get Dynamics 365 to recognise automatically if I create a new contact from an e-mail.

    Hi,

I asked about signature design due to my recommendation of the Scan Business Card feature.

It requires the use of image recognition, which may raise some recognition issues due to the design.

Natively, this isn't possible beyond the capabilities of the Scan Business Card function that Nya provided a link to. In terms of custom capability though, this could be achieved with a combination of a couple of API's within Azure Cognitive Services, namely:

    1. Azure Computer Vision (for signatures where the key info you want is actually in an image) which the Scan Business Card function actually relies on, and
    2. Azure Text Analytics to read signatures that are all in text
