Project - "Tasks" tab not working properly

(0) ShareShare

Hi,

I'm currently evaluating Project Operations using a trial account.

However, I'm only able to access the tab Tasks of a project using the Microsoft Edge. Is this normal?

Also, in the Microsoft Edge the tab is not working properly. When I click on that that, this is what I see:

And if I select the current project, I get this:

Am I missing something?

I appreciate your help.

Best regards,

Ana Alves.

Hey Ana, hope you got this fixed already by now but I just saw your post and thought I would share that I've heard a few people with this issue had resolved it by disabling ad-blockers or pop-up blockers they had running.

I believe the reason is the task management user interface is provided by 'project for the web', which is displayed in an iFrame within the page.

Also to add, you might be running into another related issue where the iframe is using cached credentials to login, which can happen if you have multiple tabs open logged into different environments. You can usually get around that by opening Project Operations in an in-private browser session.

Hi , I am still facing similar issue.

I have tried everything mentioned above. Browser settings didn't work.

I am getting different errors on same browser.

Also, When I tried to open the URL given in that Frame of Task ,

I am getting following error message, looks like ingratiation with Project is not working.

Is there any way to fix this issue?

    Thanks,

    Kshitija

I think you'll need to open a support ticket to tackle this one, not sure if anybody here will know how to resolve it. Sorry!

    Hi Chris Haley,

    Thank you for response.

    The issue has been resolved.

I opened the support ticket and got to know that

I have to create Application User called "Microsoft Projects" in Dynamics 365.

After creating User I could see task tab in Projects.

    Best regards,

    Kshitija

I Still have the same issue.

The "Microsoft Projects" apps user was already created.

    Hi Winters,

Please confirm if you have assign roles to 'Microsoft Project' user.

We have assign System administrator role and Project Manager role to that user.

After assigning the roles, we could use task tab now.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Kshitija

    Ana,

There is new Task Management solution on the market allowing you to track tasks by Projects or by Users individually. Everything is displayed on the colorful dashboards and provides a simple and convenient way to find, monitor, and manage tasks for the whole team or particular Project/Case.

    It's available on AppSource https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/dynamics-365/skyline-consultants-5228552.skyline_taskmanagement?tab=Overview,

or you can visit Skyline's website for more detail https://skylineconsultants.com/task-management/

    Best,
    Kristina
