Issue Using Personal Views in Dashboards

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by

I am trying to create a CRM dashboard with a list component and I want it to show a personal view for Appointments (Meetings). For some reason personal views "My Views" does not show up when trying to setup the list in the dashboard. When I select Activities, Opportunities, other entities, I get both system and personal views but not with appointments.  Is there a setting I have not set for this entity? I have shared the personal view with several people, it is saved, I have created a chart for this view but only system views are available in the list when I add it to my dashboard.

Any ideas?
Thanks, Jennifer

Have confirmed the behaviour you are seeing.  Not that that solves your issue.

Interestingly enough for Systems Dashboards and Personal Dashboards only 3 systems Appointments views are available (even if you have any number of other systems and/or personal Appointment views).

Could you maybe use an iFrame approach?

Normally  if you are creating a personal dashboard you can insert personal views.  But it appears not to be the case OOTB for Appointments.  (Personal views are never available if you are creating a systems dashboard. But you can share personal dashboards just like you've shared your personal views.)

Thanks for replying. Yes it is a personal dashboard. All other entities show the available personal views except appointment which is odd. I have not enabled personal views for dashboards anywhere so I don't understand why this one activity type is causing issues.

    Thanks!

You should be able to get it (not sure if it will help but just try to do IISRESET), I just created on Personal view and able to see it over my personal dashboard.

Thanks Mahendar but the IISRESET did not clear the problem. I still cannot get to personal views in Appointments. Any other ideas?

The solution I had did not have CRM for Outlook installed (where I replicated the problem you were seeing).

    What is your set-up?

I have tried editing the dashboard in both Outlook client and the web client and I get the same thing.

I have tried all of the suggestions below and I still have this problem and it is only with Appointments (meetings). I have tested this in our test environment and I have the same issue. Personal views show up just fine with other activity types. ISSRESET did not help.

    Any other suggestions?

    Jenni,

Is that the personal view problem only coming up when you are in the Dashboard?

I mean what if you go to Advanced Find -> Saved View and is that available or not>

It is also can be related to the security

    Anyway, Jenni,

I found similar problem that you might take a look:

Try to deactivate and activate the default public view of your Appointment.

It is kind of weird but some people tried and worked.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

It works for me - hopefully it will for Jenni too...

Can now create Systems and Personal Dashboards with lists of 'My Appointments'...

    Weird - but great.

    Thanks Aileen/Zack/Laurent!
