Business Central Dynamics 365 CRM Integration - Customer Name issue

Hi

I have tried BC/CRM integration but ran to the issue. If I turn "bidirectional" in D365 Connection than in Field Mapping I have "Customer Name" field. But if I turn off "bidirectional" than I do not have that field which creates Quote/SO in CRM without customer name. But "bidirectional" does not sync Quote between BC/CRM. (meaning quote from BC does not create Quote in CRM).

How you can integrate BC and CRM that first populate customer name and second integrate Quote from BC to CRM?

Thanks

    Thanks DAnny3211

I reviewed that post but still if I do not select "bidirectional" than customer name is missing from BC Table/field mapping. Only "bidirectional" shows that field. Which as a limitation does not let to sync quote. I tried all suggestions in that post without the success.

    Hello,

Not sure if I understand the issue but if you leave everything default as out of the box, the issue does not occur? You may want to set a filter if you do not want to synch specific records to synch to the other app / other way around.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Customer is already having a Bidirectional in field mapping.

Also you can work on Sales order from Sync BC to CE not Quote, as in standard system this not available.

Are you sure "bidirectional" sync for quote is available in BC standard? Can you refer to MS documentation? Last time I checked, you have to develop this.

    Hi Marco Mels

Thanks. As you suggested maybe I am missing something here.

If I leave "bidirectional"  off then go to Integration Table Mapping -> SALESORDER-ORDER -> Mapping -> Fields then I do not see "sell to customer no" field. This field is only available if I turn on "Bidirectional". As a result if I turn off "bidirectional" than in Fields I setup "bidirectional" than all SO will created in CE but without customer name.

I wonder why this field is missing when "bidirectional" is off.

    Hi Nitin

Thanks. That makes sense. If this is not available than I am good. My confusion was with turning off "bidirectional" if you turn that one off then in filter section of Integration Table you can filter Quote/SO. My assumption was if you can filter here than sync should happen. but looks like I was wrong.

Samantha73  I was under assumption that if I turn off "bidirectional" than go to "integration table" then you can set the filter for Quote. Which means based on documents it should sync quote. But looks like my understanding was not accurate.

I know you have worked on this before. Based on your experience what is the best setup here? and if you did customization for quote how you did it?

My view is that it's almost impossible to implement  BC--CRM sync without customisation. Normally I change the unique field to sync as well - for example, Account number to BC customer code. Add fields as required. The tricky bit is document sync as the two systems have different design principles (archiving in BC and versions in CRM for instance).

That’s a classic pain point with the standard connector. For more control over the mapping (including customer name) and sync quotes reliably from BC to CRM, you might check out Skyvia, a third-party tool. It is one option that gives more flexibility here.
