Anyone have experience using the GP import tool? My organization is looking to use Concur expense management software and we need to use the import tool to do so. Wondering if anyone has experience with the tool? Ease of installation, etc.

Hi- Are you talking about integration manager? I found it pretty intuitive to use .. However, Concur might have its own import tool.

You should talk with Concur and find out how they propose to prepare the data for you - this will assist you in selecting the best way to committ and import into the Microsoft GP application.

If you are able to get the output into a CSV file format that would make the Integration Manager solution a lot easier to work with. In addition it will help to know the type of transaction you are planning to import into the system.

Are you looking to import the Payable details or just the JE for the General Ledger and let the details of the transaction remain in Concur.

Many options, many solutions.

Just in case you are talking about the Table Import utility, I've had gobs of experience working with that. I can't imagine it being used that way, but you never know.

Thank you. It's called Concur Expense Integrator Tool version 2013. We would be importing the details of the payables entry into a batch in GP from an extract file;

i.e. Vendor name, date, amount, applicable general ledger debit and credit.

Do you know if this tool is compatible with GP10?

We have several clients using Concur due to the high volume of transactions. In a couple of cases we take the export files it creates and import them into GP via custom code written using Visual Studio. Hence the version of GP was irrelevant. The reason for the custom code was because we do a lot of data validation and as we import the transactions we break each batch into 50 transactions per batch. This makes it easier to post because each batch has a limited number of transactions. This can be used in place of the custom code.

We use smart connect, and robo-ftp to collect the file from Concur
