Merge Account Error - Usersettings with id does not exist

Hi all

Just tried to merge two accounts and received a Business Process Error with the following message:

usersettings With Id = guid Does Not Exist

I have queried the user table and this guid belongs to the SYSTEM user.

Other accounts merge ok.

Anyone encountered this before and know a resolution?

    Hi Luke

    Can you try and assign both records to yourself then merge

    The only other time I have seen this is when there is a workflow that is stuck relating to these records

    Thanks for the reply.  Tried the assign trick and checked for related workflows but no luck.  One of the many CRM idiosyncrasies...

    Finally found the issue and entirely of my own doing.  We have a translation plugin running on retrieve of the Account to translate a SIC Code entity into the user's local language.  The exception was thrown whilst trying to retrieve the SYSTEM user's language settings.  SYSTEM user being the user the merge runs as.  Once I handled the exception in the plugin the issue was resolved and Accounts merged successfully.  The reason other accounts merged previously was because they never had a SIC Code set, resulting in the plugin to exiting before the exception.  

    Not sure if this will help others in the future but may be of interest all the same.
