We are currently using GP2010 and eConnect 11.0. We are getting ready to move our database server for GP and need to let eConnect know where the new database server is located. Is there a config file that can be updated for eConnect or does the program need to be uninstall and reinstalled?

In original question user has moved there database to new server thats why eConnect Reinstallation was required but assume that you have Production and Test Server already and eConnect already installed and you want to change connection setting then I think we can do it through 'Requester Setup Tool' -Change SQL Instance to Test From Production and restart your services.

We uninstalled eConnect and reinstalled it, pointing to the new database server.
I was looking for the same question for a quite a while now.... There must be another way to redirect the eConnect connections from let's say a TEST GP server to a production GP system. This of course is when your eConnect is installed on a different application server... Anybody an idea about some .XML config file ?
We can reinstall eConnect. I just didn't know if this was the best way to handle this.
I think Sandip is correct in that you'll have to re-install eConnect. Is there some reason you cannot reinstall eConnect onto the same new server as your SQL databases?
I think you need to reinstall because eConnect incoming and outgoing serveice will not be avaialble until you have install eConnect.
