Dynamics 365 portal Authentication/WsFederation/ADFS/RegistrationCliamsMapping is not fetching firstname and lastname

Hi,

We have successfully configured wsfederation/adfs authentication on dynamics 365 portal, however, the firstname and lastname is not populating when the new contact is created when the user login successuly.

We tried the following settings with success.

Authentication/WsFederation/ADFS/RegistrationClaimsMapping
Authentication/OpenIdConnect/ADFS/RegistrationClaimsMapping
Authentication/OpenIdConnect/Azure AD B2C/RegistrationClaimsMapping

for all above setting the values is set to:

emailaddress1=schemas.xmlsoap.org/.../emailaddress,
firstname=schemas.xmlsoap.org/.../givenname,
lastname=schemas.xmlsoap.org/.../surname

May I know what is correct setting to get the firstname and lastname?

Regards
Venkatesh G

    Hello Venkatesh,

    I believe you are missing the http:// that would go in front of the schemas.xmlsoap.org.

    Please review the following links:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../azure-ad-b2c

    docs.microsoft.com/.../ee913589(v=ws.11)

    The 2nd link provides a number of examples for common attributes.

    Please review the above information and let me know if you have additional questions.

    Thanks,

    Hi Mark Biggerstaff,

    http is added to the portal setting as follows:

    firstname=schemas.xmlsoap.org/.../surname

    But it does not fetch the first name and last name.

    This is happening only to ADFS authentication however the other openidconnect with google/facebook works fine.

    Hello Venkatesh,

    If you have tried doing the claims mapping similar to this example:

    firstname=schemas.xmlsoap.org/.../givenname

    Or like this example:

    schemas.xmlsoap.org/.../emailaddress

    And it is still not working for ADFS, I would suggest opening a support ticket for a more detailed investigation.

    Please confirm that you have tried both of these examples as I have suggested.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    Yes, we tried both http and https for both RegistrationClaimsMappings and LoginClaimsMappings but the first name and last name does not seems to be fetching. Only email id is seen.

    Of-course, we will be contacting Microsoft on this issue and will update the resolutions if any

    Thanks and Regards

    Hi Asif Ali,

    I tried the following setting as mentioned in the above link but it did not work.

    Set the “Authentication/OpenIdConnect/Auth0/RegistrationClaimsMapping” to reflect the mapping. Commonly we would like to set the First Name, Last Name and Email Address: “firstname=schemas.xmlsoap.org/.../email”

    Thank you for time and suggestion.

    I think there is something different in Azure AD settings which is preventing from getting this details. So I am closing this issue. Thank you very one for your help.

    Regards

    Venkatesh G
