The data management module in RMSynergy is no longer being developed or supported. I am looking for a replacement application with similar functionality.
Leads would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Richard

Bhavesh Lad from Davidson Richards, see December 10,2014 post, put me in the loop and recently helped me upgrade to the latest release of RMSynergy which supports as of this writing FP2 & later RMS releases. Thank you Bhav and group. Hope to see the data management module evolve as it is indispensable to my business.
Thanks Bhav. I will touch base with you guy in March 2015.
Richard
Hi Ricc,
In order to stay up to date, the best thing I can suggest is to contact us direct on retail@davrich.co.uk in the new year around March. We will be in a better position to give you further feedback as to how far we have progressed into our testing. I agree communication is key, however to get a prompt response in future it is better to use the supplied email address rather than the forum, this way it can be picked up whilst the developers or I are busy out of the office.
Kind regards
Bhav
Gentlemen, thank you for your response. I am much relived the most valuable data management application I have for RMS has a future. Despite Bhav Lad's post a new version was to be released in 2015, given the lack of visibility of this on Davidson-Richards website along with my VAR's (Positive) inability to collaborate this, I had little faith...particularly since my further post to Bhav Lad went unanswered.
I'm still uncomfortable with why Positive Technology, who originally introduced me to RMSynergy, is not aware of this development and I'm not sure how I will be informed of your new release since Positive seems to be out of this loop. Perhaps you can explain who I should work with so I can be in a position to receive the update when it is released.
Communications is such a necessary and delicate need.
Thank you,

Dear Ricc
Please see below a response from our CEO Richard Goodley
In response to your post:
‘To anybody following this thread and trying to figure out what to replace RMSynergy with, despise the previous messages from these developers, they have never answered my questions about when this product will be available in an updated form. I consider it vaporware at this point. This is a very good app for RMS data management but as far as I can see it is dead and I would caution care about getting dependent on it like I have allowed my business to since it has stopped me from keeping RMS up to date until I can remove it’.
I’m not pleased with your most recent post because it is inaccurate, you were given a time when the product would be available in a post from Bhav Lad earlier this year - (Bhavesh Lad responded on 10 Oct 2014 4:16 AM).
It is also odd to indicate the Gentlemen at Positive might know more than we do about our own product, as you allude to in your October post.
This is therefore a clarification for anyone who may be reading this post:
Some of the new functionality of FP1 & 2 was already in place within RMSynergy and therefore there was little point in undergoing an upgrade in the early days particularly when we knew there were to be no further new versions.
There are a large range of RMSynergy modules that all interact, including the RMSRTI (real time integrator) module, and undergoing a large upgrade and testing process for virtually non-existent functional progress seemed a poor ROI option for both ourselves and our clients who would have to go through the cost and disruption of an upgrade process for very little gain.
We are not in the business of trying to charge our customers something for nothing
The imperative to upgrade has increased over time because of O/S and platform progress and that has initiated the current work that means the full range of RMSynergy modules will be available to work with the latest version of RMS in the first half of 2015.
These modules will be supported until the end of the Microsoft extended support for RMS in July 2021 – at the earliest.
We have nearly 7000 modules of RMSynergy registered and in use around the world so I have to say the use of the phrase ‘vapourware’ was one I found rather inappropriate.
Richard Goodley, CEO Davidson-Richards.

Hi Bhav, I'm glad to hear this, but I'm surprised this information is so obscure and that Positive, does not have this information. It is Positive who informed me RMSynergy is no longer in development or supported for RMS. I have been working with the head of technical support as well as my sales representative, both knowledgeable & seasoned RMS people. I am also surprised, if this is a product which is actively being sold, why it is not promoted on your web site or how you can sell it at all when RMS has upgraded so far ahead of FP1 v2.0.0166. I find all of this puzzling. RMSynergy is the best data management tool I have encountered for performing mass changes easily & effectively. I would gladly pay more for this product for better support of it. I have used many of the 3rd party tools for RMS and they are all good doing what they do. I feel RMSynergy is unique in what it does and how it can be used. How do I get in the loop closely on this product?
Thanks,
Richard
Hi Richard,
I too work at Davidson Richards in the Commercial Department. To clear up any confusion, we (Davidson Richards) are actively selling and supporting RMSynergy modules alongside RMS, as well as OpSuite for customers who opt for a cloud based soltuion.
We are glad to hear that you are happy with the Data Management module and I know from looking at your licences that you have and use other modules too. You are correct that currently RMSynergy is only supported up to RMS FP1 v2.0.0166. However testing is under way to ensure compatibility with RMS FP2 and later versions to help customers like yourself to be upgraded to newer versions of RMS.
Timescales show that we hope to have a release available in the first half of 2015.
Kind regards,
Bhav
Hi Mark, I just visited the Davidson Richards website and I do not find any reference to RMSynergy. That RMSynergy is now embedded within OPSuite is of no use to me as I do not view OPSuite as a solution to my needs as it is a proprietary system which does not allow me to use 3rd party tools with my non-proprietary, open RMS DBS.
If this a supported product, please explain to me which release I need and how to obtain it because I'm stuck on my current release of RMS until I can either upgrade RMSynergy or replace it with another tool which allows me the same functionality and allows me to be able to keep up with RMS changes.
Thanks,
Richard
Hi Mark, I am a customer of Positive Technology and they have led me to believe I cannot upgrade my RMS installation to the latest updates due t RMSynergy not supporting the latest RMS updates.
I would dearly like to find out otherwise as RMSyenergy is the best DBS management tool I use for my needs.
Thanks,
Richard
