It does not work with on-premise unfortunately. This guy came out with a workaround but I personally have not tested it out: blog.cobalt.net/.../excel-odata-feed-from-dynamics-crm-on-premise-or-ifd

Integrating to on-premise is very challenging and requires quite a bit of customization to make it work. Microsoft has received feedback that people would like it added to the roadmap but this has yet to be done. Hopefully soon they will allow this option but in the meantime I would suggest using Power Pivot and your SQL Database.

What about through Azure Service Bus?

Meghan, Thank you for your suggestion. Could you please point me to the documentation on how we can use Power Pivot/SQL DB.

Shania, Thank you for your inputs. Can you please help share some docs /blog?

FYI: We have an on-premise install.

    best wishes,

    Harihar,

I can - here are some links that provide some basic information. There are a variety of ways that this can be accomplish so I would suggest reading through those and then deciding what is best based on your comfort level.

    www.microsoft.com/.../export-to-an-excel-pivottable.aspx

    yanivrdt.wordpress.com/.../powerpivot-microsoft-dynamics-crm-2011-part-1-2-2

    blogs.microsoft.co.il/.../powerpivot-amp-microsoft-dynamics-crm-2011-part-2

The 2nd articles are 2011 however, the process is still the same and the walkthrough provides great support on how to accomplish this process.

Hope this helps. If it does please mark as a Verified Answer. Thank you.

    Hi Harihar

As I undestand power bi currently only for crm online.

You can recommend other BI tool.

Or yes do power query in excel retrieving data from odata.

    Thanks

    Hi Harihar

It might not the answer you were expecting to but yeah only available for online now.

You can try to recommend using excel or other advance BI like tableu zap or clickview

Hope this helps you to close the thread.

    Thanks
