Hello,

Has anyone tried to install Dynamics 365 remote assist app on their personal iPad and sign in using authorize work or school account ? We have few iPads which are personally owned devices but enrolled in Intune by company portal user enrollment. We deployed iOS VPP type remote assist app on those devices, they installed successfully but when users trying to sign in to app using their work account then after authenticating credentials its redirecting the user to company portal and nothing happens further.

We have installed remote assist app on Android, iPhone from appstore and google store without an issue and could sign in too. but its just iPad on which we are facing sign in problem. (Note - all iPads versions are compatible to remote assist)

Please help.

Regards,

Suraj Malusare

Hello Suraj.   I would recommend using the Microsoft Authenticator application, which can manage credentials and walk through the sign in path, and will often times given detail error messages as to why authentication fails.

What happens on iPad if you install Teams? Can you sign in without any issues? I wonder if this is an issue with Intune setup or Remote Assist.

Hello Charles, Thank you for your reply. Yes users are using MS authenticator only to authenticate their credentials, however once they approve sign in then getting below message and then it redirects to company portal.

Hello Jacek, Yes I thought of trying this also and users are able to sign in to Teams app on iPad and could ping me too. The only difference I found that Teams was pushed in "Available" intent on iPad so they installed it from Company portal and Remote assist we pushed in "Required" intent so it installed automatically. App installation works fine so its just Sign in causing problem for this particular app.

    Hi

To better understand the problem, can you also please confirm if users on iPad followed this order, which should ensure proper setup:

    1. Company Portal is installed prior to enrollment.

    2. Enrollment begins in Company Portal

    3. Company Portal instructs user to download Authenticator app via the App Store (if not already installed).

    4. Company Portal goes through the enrollment process

    5. IT Pro deploys Remote Assist via Intune. Since it is managed, it is installed in the managed partition. The managed partition will not have a WPJ cert, which is why using Authenticator app is key to this flow.

    5. User auths into Remote Assist. As long as it is using ADAL/MSAL then it should redirect to Authenticator to let it handle the auth request.
