Performance impact of copy environment

Hi!

Tried searching through documentation and old posts, but didn't find a clear answer. I'm wondering if there will be a performance impact to the production environment when making a copy to a new sandbox. Can this be started any time without impact or should it be done outside of peak hours?

Hi,

Any administrative task should be done outside of Business hours. It does impact live users.

Thank you for your quick response. I can not see that the documentation you are linking to says anything about performance impact on the environment which is being copied from (source environment). Could you please clarify if performance impact is documented somewhere or if this is solely based on your own experience?

Hi,

I also did not find any details about performance impact. It was my personal experience. Any Admin Task we perform should be outside Business hours.

This is to avoid any performance inpact or any timeout while accessing crm application.

I cant find this in any official document, I am not sure what will happen if you have got the document.

This is a pure experience based answer as from the beginning Microsoft or any technology saying, back up should be done out side of business hours.

It can happen during business hours some data is added but that is not copied to the back up.

Hello Per Kristian Andreassen, is not prohibited, but best approach possible is always perform this action during dark hours to avoid any impact in production environment.
