Linking excel worksheets in Management Reporter

Hello dear community, i have this question from a customer upgrading their AX to D365, great if you can clarify:

we have been informed by our partner who is implementing D365 that the features of linking excel worksheets in Management Reporter has been deprecated.

Please confirm and if yes what is the alternative solution as this is required by our business users to fetch external data and make it part of the report that also fetches data from AX.

    Hi Charbel,

    If you need to combine information from Dynamics 365 Finance and external sources, you can create Power BI reports as an alternative.

    That feature was in fact deprecated after AX2012 R3.  I'm not aware of a work around, except to move to a different reporting platform. I believe this product supports links to Excel. Reporting & Financial Consolidation Software | Solver CPM Solution (solverglobal.com)
