Hello guys , I am at it again with AX 2012 R2.

I have a very strange situation here and hope someone will be able to help me.

I am making a field (Net Amount) read-only on the sales order grid for the role Sales Clerk.

This is what I have done: gone to AX 2012 security roles->sales clerk then I select the button Override Permissions. when this came up I look for the table SalesLine table (Image 1) then the field Line Amount which is equivalent to Net Amount. I then override and select view then close.(image 2) Am still able to edit the field on the sales line when am using only the role Sales Clerk. Can some please tell me why the changes are not taking place.

Hi Lionel07,

If the control on the form is an edit method instead of a control bound to the datasource field, the security is not working. Did this person restart the AX client? Are other fields on this table actually working or not?

Hello Andre, thanks for your suggection, Yes the client was restarted multiple times. there are other fields that are working just like this. for example: unit price.... the user can only see it but cannot modify the field.
