Updating Marketing Lists

We want to be able to automatically update our marketing lists with new contact info as it is changed within the system or added to the system.  Can this be done via a workflow?  All I can see regarding a workflow for a marketing list has no options for address changes, email address changes, etc.

Marketing list are linked to contacts, as long as contact is updated it should automatically flow to Marketing list as well.

But what about when a contact at an account leaves and we get a new one?  Or a new account is entered, can they automatically be added to the Marketing List or will this require us to manually enter them?

You might want to use dynamic marketing list, which is automatically up-to-date based on conditions. For eg account in certain region, certain type etc.

I agree with Deepesh, when creating a marketing list, you can select if it is 'static' or 'dynamic' - Static is what it says in that you basically add who you want and it stays as it is, but if you select Dynamic, you can specifically set a query using Advanced find e.g. 'All Active Accounts' or 'All Active Accounts where Marketing Preference is Email' etc.

Your Dynamic list will update and be effectively a 'live' list. You can make static lists of your dynamic list also, which is effectively taking a 'snapshot' of your dynamic list, which is ever changing, at a specific point in time.

    Hi LDW-AR,

I would suggest you to use Dynamic Marketing List.

It will not store the members in the database, it will give you the list of member based on the current updated circumstance, so you are no need to create a worklow.

    Check these links:

    www.powerobjects.com/.../dynamic-marketing-lists-in-crm-2011-results-advanced-find

So, if you want to select all contact based on the up-to-date Account, you can use Adv Query based on the Account condition as criteria.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks.
