Units of measure "missing"

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

My client has added several new global uom's but they do not display in the PV list. I have rerun the PVREC but no success. They get an item not found message even though the items are in the unit conversion table. This is an SL2011 site. Any ideas?

    You also need

    Global * * CMS CMS Multiply 1.000000000

    Global * * INCH INCH Multiply 1.000000000

    Global * * FT FT Multiply 1.000000000

FT to FT should be there by default.

The message of "Item not found" is a result of the validation of the entered value against the stored procedure associated to the PV.  The Proc has the same name as the PV.  figure out why the proc is returning a not found and you will be able to make the needed adjustments to the INUnits table.

A displayed list for the PV can be different than the list from the Stored Proc.

PV List is based on the inventory class id & stocking unit & Inventory Id  in Purchase order Maintenance screen.

As mentioned in my earlier post I have added the new UOM in Unit conversion screen, The UOM will get displayed in my Purchase Order Maintenance Screen & Inventory Maintenance screen

You can try the same as mentioned in earlier post in your testing environment.

    Thanks,

The screens are not customized. The client does not have CM.

The PV displays a partial list of UOM's not the new ones.

If you have already defined the UOM with status set to Global in Unit conversion screen, PV list will definitely display the Stock UOM in Inventory Items screen.

Is there any customization in UOM field of Inventory Items(10.250.00) screen?

    Thanks,

Thank you for the reply but as I mentioned in my first post the items already exist in the unit conversion table with status set to Global. The do not appear when you PV any of the unit fields in Inventory Maintenance.

The global_class_sopounits possible value is used in the sales order UOM of  Inventory sites screen. This PV is based on the inventory class id & inventory stocking unit & Inventory Id.

For instance, You are having FT as Stock unit for an Item A. If you are going to add new UOM "CMS" and "INCH",You have to add the following records in your unit conversion screen.

    Global * * CMS FT Divide 30.000000000

    Global * * FT CMS Multiply 30.000000000

    Global * * INCH FT Divide 12.000000000

    Global * * FT INCH Multiply 12.000000000

After adding this lines in Unit conversion screen, you can see the new UOM's in your PV List of Inventory sites screen.

    This may help you.

    Thanks,

    Perumalsamy R
