All the barcode can do is type the transaction number (printed below the barcode) onto whatever screen you are currently using. For instance, if you are in POS and use F11 - Recall transaction for return, then select the date range that would include that transaction, the lookup screen that lists all the transactions in that range is sorted by default by the transaction number so that if you were to then type the number or scan the barcode it would jump to that entry in the list. As you can see, the use of the barcode in that process plays a very small role.
I'm having the same issue. I have the barcode on the receipts but when I scan them, nothing happens. Isn't it supposed to pull up the details?
I am new to RMS, but in the one instance where I have used it, we found that the single digit numbers would not scan, but once you got to double digits it would. So after 10 transactions, if you find the same, you'll be ok moving forward.
