Is it possible to upload a sales order (header and lines) using data management?  If so, which entity do I use in data management?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Jet S,

Yes, It is possible. You can use following entities:

In order to test you can export the entities in Excel and then fill out the excel file with one record and import in D365FO.

Please try and give us a feedback if you need assistance.

I am having trouble validating, this is the message I am getting:

Results. update not allowed for field 'Line creation sequence number(LineCreationSequenceNumber)'

Results. update not allowed for field 'Line number(LineNumber)'

    Results. Validations failed

Can you please check the file for the line number. For same sales order header line should have different numbers.

    Hi,

Make sure header entity in sequence 1 and line entity sequence 2 in import project.

I have done that but it looks like it does not like my LOT ID#  (which the system usually automates when adding a line), and my line number sequences are from 1 to 7 as others sales orders are:

Results. Field 'Lot ID' does not allow editing.

Results. Invalid specification of Lot ID

Results. Number sequence Inve_122 does not allow change to a lower number.

    Results. Validations failed

    Hi Jsabanovski ,

Could leave the LOTID field empty and retry?

    Hi Komi Siabi

I did that and the file import completely fails.

    Hi Jet S,

First you upload sales order headers file. Then pasted these sales order number in sales order line file and upload it.

In your Test/UAT environment, create a manual sales order entry with line and check if you are able to confirm the sales order. If any issue then resolve that issue first. Now Which ever information you entered in sales order line doing manual entry, same enter in sales order line file and upload it.

You might need to set some fields as Auto generated and Auto default default in mapping while importing the file. Inventory Lot Id mark is as auto generated.

    Regards,
