Printing license plate label for return sales orders/ RMA orders

Hi all,

When receiving an item with the scanner via the RMA process (R3 warehouse) there is no new license plate (LP) created. As we do not know the original LP number anymore (or sometimes there is no original AX LP) we must create a LP manually. Unfortunately you can't Re-print a manually created LP, so I'm wondering how anyone else is dealing with this. Is their any way to receive a RMA orders with creating a LP to put on the item?

    Hi V,

    This all works for PO and TO receipts but not for RMA receipts. No license plate is printed during that process. For the RMA process it's not possible to check the box "generate a license plate" in the Mobile device menu items and therefor we created a workaround to create de LP manually but now we found out that it's not possible to reprint a manual created LP.

    Thanks for your imput but unfortunately it does not work for the RMA process.

    Hi Jaspert,

    Check Organisation administration - number sequences and find your LP number sequence(Make sure its not setup on manual entry)

    Check Warehouse Management - Setup - Warehouse management parameters - number sequences. Make sure you got the right one allocated for your LP.

    Make sure the location you are using for receiving its location profile is setup to use LP tracking.

    Once you will setup your parameters right, it will generate LP for the goods you received. Also you will be able to reprint the label using the LP.

    Ok thanks, I will look for the solution outside the system then. I think AX should generate a LP like it does with PO and TO receipts, but it looks like not to be an option in the RMA process.

    I don't know of a way to print them from AX (although maybe there is something in the Retail module that could do it).

    The labels can be printed from anywhere. They don't need to correspond to a Licence plate in AX, since AX will auto-create the LP during the receive process. The minimum the label should have on it is an LP Id in a format you want to use, and a bar code representation of this.

    Thanks for your reply Guy.

    Any work around will do, but the pre-printed LP abels you are refering to are they printed out of AX or with seperate label printing software? Not sure how to create pre-printed labels from AX for manual created LP's.

    Can you use pre-printed LP labels, with a barcode and an LP Id? Scan the barcode during the RMA process on the hand held, and stick it on to the item.
