Hi guys,
When debugging, for me I'm doing "Attach to Process" using (select) W3WP.exe, but some blog mentioned about to IISEXPRES.exe. I want to know what is the different ?
I'm working in my DevBox which is a VHD from Hyper-V, and I checked there is no selection for IISEXPRES.exe as well.
Any pros and cons of using each of those ?
Thanks,
Hi Ken,
I don't think there is not much difference between them whichever is available you can use for debugger..
IISExpress.exe will be show when the service in the IIS manager is stopped and other services are running and W3Wp will not be shown as debugger option.
Once the IIS manager is started you will get W3WP.exe as a debugger option.
This is the difference I have acquired while debugging.
Thanks,
Girish S.
